Management is the process of controlling or dealing with things or people. In any organization there must be a person to take charge and monitor the day to day running of any organization or institution.  A manager should know his/her employees  where  the team members show little passion in their work the manager should use authoritarian style but if the employees show effort and willingness to work the leader should  use participative management. A manager should also consider internal and external factors that may affect the chosen management  approach.  An organization’s  running  may be affected by size of organization, technology being used,  and management approach. A leader should be able to identify departments, workgroups and business units and should encourage team work between these. A leader should also collaborate with employees to determine the best management approach this enables management and regular employees ti work as a whole. Also leaders should simplify work being done by employees  and  produce a conducive environment for them.Employees should also be given a fair wage according to their jobs this boosts their work morale and encourages  them to work harder.

In this essay focuses on a case study( Ferreira Gregorio, V., Pié, L. and Terceño, A., 2018). A systematic literature review of bio, green and circular economy trends in publications in the field of economics and business management  In the case study the scott corporation had a project  which was to offer many  opportunities if it became successful.The scott project was a ten month  endovour was to develop a new productfor scott corporation. Scott corporation informed park industries that the contaract was to go on for almost five years and all the the contaracts were to be renewed each year.Jerry  Dunlap was selected as the project manager. Jerry was young but he understood the importance of the institutions growth. He was given some of the best staff to work with him in his project. The employees understood how to effectively pass information, how to work as a team and how to relate well with customers. The project had  7 full time emoloyees but they were to increase to 15 in due time if the project increased Brondoni, S.M., 2018. Competitive Business Management and Global Competition. An Introduction. In Competitive Business Management (pp. 21-42). Routledge. New employees were to be trained but there was no one was chosen to tarin them, this made them feel lost. Eight people from functional department of customers were selected  for project functional team. The total number of people in the office was 25. This led to inadequate resources for the staff. The work load fluctuated but the man power was the same. The project office and and team members had different working hours and this made their jobs unstable.casual staff got job that permenant staff did not, with time the relationship between the permanet staff and casual workers deteorated. With four months remaining on the oroject scott corporation informed park industries that due to money problems follow on work would not be awarded until first week of march 2023. Due to financial crisis some permanent staffs started taking jobs that were being done by casual workers. This led to many casual workers losing their jobs, this led to a strained relationship between permanent staff, casual and management. Thos led to failing of the organization.

QUESTIONS 1

  • He was not able to deal with performance problems

Perfomance problems are often a very big indicator of a problem. John duplan failed to identify and deal with the performance problems un the project. With time the employees work and relationship deteoriated and their work become unstable which led to low performance in the organization. He was unable to find a solution to this problem .

The solution to this was problem was:

He should have been able to set clear goals and targets with his team this could have made them know the destination and where theybaim to reach.

  • He was unable to resolve conflict

With time the relationship between management, oermanent and casual staff became starined. There was conflict between the employyes and it grew with time but he was not able to solve it.This affects morale and productivity.

The solution to this was

He was to identify and understand the cause of the conflict then take suitable actions to deal with the problem. Also one should remind the team about their goals and their values . He should have also called a meeting between the staffs ad try to conduct and fair discussion to solve the issue

  • He did not train new employees

Training is very important. I t helps employees understand the values and the day to running of the organization. It also enables them to understand the aims and goals of the organization.

The solution to this was

He was to allocate a skilled person to train new employees according to their area of specialization. He was suppose to ensure that the employees were properly trained and that they had learnt all that they were expected to learn.

  • He did not allocate resources propely

Resources are the things that enable proper running of an organization. In this case the organization did not have enough resources for each employee. There were many employees and less resources.This led to decline in performance in the organization by the employees.

The solution to this wasHe should have balnced the resources and the employees. There should have been  enough  resources for each employee. He should have made a plan before starting the project inorder to know how and where to allocate the rsources.

QUESTION 2

There should be standards set from the first day. The employees should be communicated on the set goals and aims of the organization.There should be communication between the employees in different departments and levels.This enables them to communicate and helps strengthen team work. I t also enables them to form a transparent and a conducive working condition

The leader should be able to send feedback to the employees. He should communicate his /he feelings about their work and encourage them. He should also ensure that the employees are treated equally sonthat there is no rivalry between different work groups and different working levels. Also employees in management should learn to treat their seniors with respect and not to discriminate them.

The leader should also ensure fair wage to the workers. He should ensure no employee is paid more or less than they should be paid. He should ensure fairness in distribution of resources.

QUESTION 3

The corporation should consider the cost of their products to their customer. In order to recover their customers they can reduce the prices of their long time customers .They can also give warranty for their products. This may help in recovering their customers.

The organization  may tailor their goods to meet uder requirement. This may also help to improve customer relationship since customer gets a product according to his or her preference.The organization should also create trust with their employees by being transparent and communicating to their customers incase of changes or improvement.

An organization can also  seek feedback from its customer. This enables them to communicate their feelings, compliments and also any complaints about the product, this enables the organization to know how to improve their product. The organization should also address any negative feedback in a friendly and effective manner.

The organization should also address the public and ask for forgiveness for any inconviniences or wrongs that they might have commited against their customers. They should be able to use a method which will reach many ofbtheir customers and a means that will be effective.

Management is a very important aspect in an organization. Management has a direct effect on an organization  running. Management can lead to failure or and success of an organization. An organization should  also consider who is in management and what he/she is doing.
