Immigrant Segregation in Early Chicago

City of the Century illustrates Chicago’s boom in a short 60-year period. It describes how innovation, determination, and hardships endured by the looming numbers of workers, most of whom were immigrants from northern Europe and Ireland helped a capitalist class reinvent the way America conducted business. The conception of “the American dream” remains a theory in relation to the evidence.
