Topic: Can global inequality be solved?
In this article Caroline Heider and Auguste T. Kouame bring forth the ways World Bank Group should adopt to ensure equitable economic growth and reduced cases of global inequality. This is well illustrated in their article “Addressing Global Inequality –Can We Succeed?” and this is based on activities observed and measured to create a shared global goal that focuses economic inclusion indicator (Placeholder1) (Caroline Heider).
These two authors focus more on the shared prosperity within World Bank’ systems in terms of markets, existing policies and facilitating open and transparent organizations. This is as a result of increasing conditions of inequality and the urge to change that, this has seen leaders converging to try and salvage the situation. The widening concern has pushed the inclusion agenda into a to-do list and I cannot agree more that this can create a shared prosperity. The limitations of this strategies and projects do not have a clear timeline within which it can be quantified. Growth inclusiveness and policies set are not backed up with regions because like everything else the levels of inequality are different in different areas. However, the plans look more achievable if each institution works in its full potential. These include MIGQ, IBRD and many others, proper timelines should be set for evaluation of the strategies and projects to eradicate this global inequity.
